Fun with Friends (day 5)

On our last whole day together, we went to see the Snoqualmie Waterfall. You get to see a gorgeous view from the top. And then we hiked down to the bottom and swam in the river at the bottom of the waterfall. It was a bit cold for me, but the kids had a blast. And the weather ended up being absolutely perfect for the afternoon!

Fun with Friends (day 4)

We did the BIG tour of Seattle. And the ride on the duck is the most fun way to do it. The duck is an old war vehicle that can go from the land to the water and back again. Our drivers name was Matt Agasgar. He wore crazy hat and played awesome music. Everyone on the vehicle yells and screams and sings along. And they have these wonderful duck quackers that we got for all the children. (which have been banned from being used in MY house!) I'm sure all the innocent people in downtown Seattle just LOVED us. (the driver told us that the duck quackers were voted the #1 most annoying noise in Seattle! LOL) My friend B. got to drive the duck when we were in the water because it was her birthday! After words we walk around the waterfront and had lunch at the Crabpot. And then we wandered over to Chinatown to look about.

Fun with Friends (day 3)

On this evening, we did a kids free night. We ate a fondue restaurant. The food was so yummy. Everything was either made table side or brought raw to the table and you cook it yourself.

Fun with Friends (day 1)

We spent the day touring around the older part of Seattle. I love to see the urban waterfall everytime I am down there. And, of course, we had to wander around the Pike Market and watch some fish throwing. We went on the Seattle Underground Tour. Great history about the city of Seattle and how it came to be.

Fun in Washington

Have I mentioned our bestest friends from CA are here in WA visiting us. I am such a bad blogger. I have been having so much fun that I just couldnt blog about it. The girls from CA have been here for a week and a half. I took last Thursday and Friday off to go and do stuff with the kids.

One day 1 we went to the Locks and watched the boats going in and out. Then we toured around the gardens.

Then it off to the nature park for lunch and hiking.

Then I tried to go to this quiet little beach I know, but apparently EVERYONE else knows about it too. There was absolutely NO PARKING. So I took the kids to the Seattle Center to play in the fountain. (notice Miss K. is not in the picture. Leave it my daughter to be the FIRST one to fall on the cobblestone ground and rip open her knee! But the drama only last about 20 minutes and then she was in there with the rest of them!)

On day two we went to a nature park near the house. They have a petting farm, which the kids loved. Then we played on the playground. Then it was time for open swim in the pool. After going home to clean up, we went to investigate this local island I found on the internet. It was a beautiful place. At sunset they did an open mic session around the campfire. All the kids had to sing in order to get s'mores.

Guess who I got to meet!

And I managed to get the whole field trip at the front of line to meet him too. I have never been to a major league ball game before. It was actually kinda fun. But I told hubby it would have been more fun without 24 kids in tow!

Train Ride

We spent Saturday touring some of Washington's nature. We rode an authentic steam engine train. We sat in an open rail car (and the weather was not the best for that, but we survived) The kids had fun and it was a real quiet family time together.
